Florin Pane

Principal Trombonist at “George Enescu” Philarmonic Bucharest

Born on February 24, 1970, in a family of musicians, he began studying piano at the age of six at „George Enescu” High School of Art in Bucharest, then, simultaneously, he studied trombone at the same school, which he graduated in 1988.

In 1993 he graduated from UNMB with the highest recognition and followed a concert career as an orchestra musician along with important orchestras from Romania. During this time he has made different radio and television programs.

In 1991 he became a member of the” Bucharest Virtuosi” orchestra under the baton of Horia Andreescu, an ensemble in which he made many recordings and international projects.

He is the “Cela Delavrancea” prize (1992) winner for meritorious activity in the field of culture and he is a founder member of the contemporary music ensemble “Pro Contemporania”, an ensemble with which he has given concerts in the country and abroad.

The year 2003 brings an award to this ensemble from “Actualitatea Muzicală” magazine.

In 1993 he won a place as Principal Trombonist at “George Enescu” Philharmonic Bucharest and participated in various projects in Germany, Spain, France, Greece, Switzerland, Japan, etc.

It has evolved with artists such as Placido Domingo, Mirella Freni, Jose Carreras, Shlomo Mintz, Valeri Repin, Dan Grigore, Radu Lupu, Silvia Marcovici, etc.

His orchestral activity was crowned under the baton of conductors such as Ghenadi Rojensvenski, Erich Bergel, Eugene Khon, Misha Katz, Seiji Osawa, etc.

The pedagogical activity started in 1997, invited as an associate professor at UNMB.

Starting with 1998, a long-term collaboration with the Bucharest Opera begins.

As an “Athenaeum Brass Quintet” musician he enjoys real success among specialized press at a national and international level, thanks to the numerous recordings, concerts, and international projects.
