The Festival of the Musical Academy „Sinaia“ 9 -14 September, 2015

The first edition of the Festival of the Music Academy “Sinaia” was organized  in Sinaia between September 9 and September 14 2015 with the participation of some young musicians accompanied by their mentors in the oboe specialism  from the following countries: Japan, United Kingdom, China, Belgium, Romania.

Outstanding artistis:

  • Gordon Hunt, principal oboist with the Philharmonia, oboe professor with the Guildhall Music and Drama London
  • Ludovic Armin Cora, associated oboist with the National Orchestra of Metz, France
  • Florenel Ionoaia, Ph.D University professor with the oboe chair of the National Music University of Bucharest
  • Emil Visenescu, principal clarinetist with the „G. Enescu“ Philarmonia, clarinet professor with the National Musci University of Bucharest
  • Cristina Popescu Stanesti, University professor, Ph.D. with the „Keyboard instruments and chamber music“, Dean of the Faculty of Musical Interpretation within the National Music University of Bucharest
  • Leonard Boga, Orchestra conductor with the Opera of Brasov

The Romanian première was the assembly formed by 14 oboists conducted by Professor Gordon Hunt.

Mr. Michael Britton, Manager of Howarth of London was present throughout the entire duration of the project with a stand of Howarth of London brand musical instruments.

At the end of the Festival, the organizer facilitated the selection of a Howarth of London concerto oboe, instrument which was purchased with a 30% discount of the European market price.

A number of 3 concerts were organized during the 5 days oft he event, as follows:

The Music Academy Festival Brasov November 9-16 2015

The second edition of the Music academy Festival Brasov was organized in Brasov between the 9th and the 16th of November 2015 with the participation of 10 young musicians under the guidance of internationally renowned oboist mentors.

The internationally renowned participants were:

  • Vincent Tizon, principal oboist from the Chamber Orchestra of Cannes, France
  • Aurel Marc, University professor with the oboe chair of the Music Academy Gh. Dima of Cluj Napoca
  • Ludovic Armin Cora, oboist asociat cu Orchestra Nationala Metz­­­­­­­
  • Florenel Ionoaia, University professor with the oboe chair of the National Music University of Bucharest
  • Cristina Popescu Stanesti, University professor, Ph.D. with the „Keyboard instruments and chamber music“, Dean of the Faculty of Musical Interpretation within the National Music University of Bucharest
  • Leonard Boga, Orchestra conductor with the Opera of Brasov

For the second time an oboist orchestra was created in Romania with the ten oboists participating in the contest, an orchestra conducted by Leonard Boga.

Following the festival, the organizer promoted the young Romanian oboist Petho Krista by promoting her to play as a principal oboist with the Youth Orchestra of Cyprus.

Through this second edition of the event and thanks to a well deserved outstanding international prestige, The Music Academy of Brasov achieved its goal to promote the young Romanian musicians, the Romanian cultural patrimony at the highest levels.

The collaboration with the Youth Orchestra of Cyprus assured the success of the event thanks to the impeccable evolution of Ms. Petho Krista as a principal oboist.

As regards the Agenda of the Festival, two concerts were organized during the 7 days of the event as follows :

November 13 2015, 18:00 hours: The “Aula” of the University “Transilvania” of Brassov

The opening concert of the Music Academy Brasov sustained by the professors invited to the festival.

November 15, 20:00 hours: “Reduta” Cultural Center

The closing concert of the Music Academy Brasov sustained by the Academy students.
