Ionuț Podgoreanu began studying horn at the age of 11 in Ploiești with Professor Liviu Săvută. In 2002, he continued his studies at the National University of Music in Bucharest with Professor Nicolae Lipoczi, and in 2003 he went to Salzburg to study at the Mozarteum with Professor Hansjoerg Angerer. He has attended master classes with horn players such as Stefan Dohr, Radek Baborák, and Allesio Allegrini. In 2003, he became Principal Horn with the Gustav Mahler Orchestra, conducted by Pierre Boulez, Claudio Abbado, and Ivan Fischer. After that, he won the Solo Horn positions with the Münchener Kammerorchester and the Haydn Orchestra in Bolzano. Since 2006, he has been the Solo Horn with the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatro del Liceo and, since 2014, a horn professor at the Liceo Advanced Music Conservatory in Barcelona. He obtained the 1st prize at the following international horn competitions: Jeunesses Musicales (Romania, 1999), Yamaha (2003), Telfs (Austria, 2004), Mozart (Italy, 2006), and Domenico Ceccarossi (Italy, 2007). Ionuț Podgoreanu has performed around the world, in countries such as Romania, Austria, Germany, Spain, England, Japan, Singapore, China, and the United States. The educational and cultural project MUSICA KRONSTADT (www.academyofmusic.eu) is honored to have had him as a horn and chamber music teacher as well as conductor for its 2017 edition and to have him again for the 2019 edition. Ionuț Podgoreanu has the honor of participating for the fifth year in the educational/cultural project MUSICA KRONSTADT.
