Adrian Petrescu, a musician with an impressive national and international artistic career,
is the principal oboist of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic, conductor, and professor of oboe and chamber music at the National University of Music in Bucharest. After completing his studies and musical specializations with renowned professors, he became a laureate of competitions in Bucharest, Prague, and Markneukirchen. Invited to the seasons of symphony orchestras and national and international festivals in North America, Europe, and Asia, Adrian Petrescu is also the founder and conductor of the brass chamber ensemble “Romanian Brass.”
A constant presence as a conductor and soloist at the “George Enescu” International Festival in Bucharest, he is continually focused on enriching his own repertoire with reference scores from Pre-Classical Music to 21st Century Music.
Gifted with exceptional sensitivity and having accumulated a vast cultural knowledge throughout his career, Adrian Petrescu manages to convey a complex range of emotions in the music he performs, regardless of the musical genre approached, demonstrating authenticity, passion, virtuosity, and interpretative elegance. Treating both classical and entertainment music with the same professionalism, Adrian Petrescu always stands out through his artistic performances, recognized not only nationally but also internationally, and he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit by the Presidency of Romania in 2003.
